Certains artistes ont aussi investi l’extérieur des conteneurs. L’exposition a été présentée sur le quai du port de Bilbao en juillet 2005. Le projet initial était de transformer un bateau chargé de conteneurs en un véritable musée flottant qui devait amarrer dans les différents ports de la péninsule ibérique. Mais le projet s’est avéré plus difficile que prévu, notamment pour des raisons financières. [EN] El Barco del Arte is a nomadic exhibition of Spanish contemporary art, conceived with the means of ship containers. 17 artist were invited in 2005 to create work of art in ship containers displayed in the street. Some of the artistes also invested spaces out-side the containers. The exhibition wa shown on the docks of Bilbao’s harbour in July 2005. The initial project was to transform a container ship into a true floating museum, which was supposed to stopover in the different harbours of the Iberian Peninsula. But the project was difficult to realise and did not reach this stage, notably because for financial reasons.
